WISHING Y'ALL A FANTASTICAL WEEKEND!

Still flying

MAN I AM DROWNING in DVD cases. It just took a psychological half hour (ie about 3 mins 20 seconds) to locate the case for Dr Zhivago which I tried to watch last night but just cannot concentrate on. I like the music, I like the snow and I like Lara.

Oh I can't even remember what I was going to say. Oh yeah I actually have my glasses. Which I usually lose for days on end when I go mental. I also lose money, the cards to get the money and keys, which just vanish in my house. Keys being the priority and because I never put them anywhere too stupid, I always find them within the hour. Everything else goes walkies for days on end.

I slept for hours and hours last night and don't feel nauseated any more. But I do feel physically tired whenever I sit down. When I go walking down the street I get brought right up into a beautiful high. Talking on the phone, anything else brings me up. Other times I think I'm normal, which is bad. Because normal leads to depression and I'd rather be high as a kite to be frank.

No not on drugs high on my Higher Power. I'm really into this Higher Power thing it's fantastic way better than drugs. Ask anyone in NA. Though they don't seem to get intoxicated by theirs. Which makes them all the poorer than me, to be frank.

Well not much doing except Mamma Mia which plays round and round because I like to sleep with Abba blaring in the background and meet the Fockers which I actually watched twice, I caught about a quarter of the actual film each time, so another 2 times and I'm done.

Syd asked why I don't hire them from the library but I'm in deep trouble with them for having taken out books last summer which I still have and having lost one on a bus and not told them. When you take books back the weirdos who work there seem to feel they have to calculate what is owed. I do not want or need unnecessary information but they won't listen. Actually they might if I come in blazingly hyper I will ensure I don't get told anything I don't want to hear. People visibly back off from me in this state. It's fantastic.

[Also our library charges about £2 for DVD hire and you can buy 'em new for £3 without the hassle of having to return them so I buy. With my grated cheese style attention span I have to watch everything x5 these days so I pretty much need to own it to get the story...]

Oh man I'm so exhausted it's unreal my body feels like I've gone skiing nonstop for 3 days. Bloody hell this French film is so boring I'm changing it. Why don't French people just learn to speak English? It would save so much time and trouble reading fucking subtitles. Yeah I can read Paris Match but actually following the crap they spout in real life: that's hard. Way harder than Real German. French people speak about 60% "argot" (slang) 40% proper French. Germans speak about 98% proper 2% slang. English people use more slang than Germans but far less than the French. Also Germans speak very distinctly. English are in between. The French, as y'all know speak as if they're eating something too tasty to bother opening their mouths properly. Plus they run all their words together.

I once met a French maniac who tried to speak to me dans le langue superieur (francais) mais je suis desole je comprenais rien! Can't find the accents for French. Sorry. And French keyboards go AZERTY not QWERTY which is the biggest headfucker {several other letters are in different places}. German goes QWERTZ ie Y and Z are swapped round and the cuckoo clock umlauted vowels are were ;'and[ are.

Well I'm off I don't know what the point of any of this was really I'm just saying hi and I wish I had a decent film to watch. I mean one that's either VERY FUNNY or FULL OF GOOD MUSIC. That I haven't watched at least twice in the past 2 days. I do have Young Victoria but it's far too ponderous for my frame of mind. The Queen was very good. Helen Mirren certainly seems to sum up the Queen's character which is quite witty, pragmatic and level headed but not boring. I noted nobody played Princess Margo. She was only referred to. Adding characters to fiction adds a lot of length so that might be why Margaret's not in there.

Well I'm off I'm totally skint I thought I had money in the bank but it's absolutely bare till Monday and I'm not even on heroin I don't know what I did {apart from buy a DVD player, a digibox and only 35 or so DVDs} but I fucked up somehow. OK over and out.

WISHING Y'ALL A WONDERFUL WEEKEND

Saturday After Noon Calm Down

23:22 Here's a calmer tune for y'all
SCOTT GARCIA: IT'S A LONDON THING
UK GARAGE
Melody Lee this is for you. Melody is in New Mexico. They have "underground garage" there. This is UK garage. Underground it ain't. Most dance music is normal as a nice cuppa tea ere....
this tune dates to 1997. BBC Radio 1 started playing it 2 years late forget their own brains one day the BBC will...

14:51 hrs. I'm calm. Calmer than I was before. A thought or a voice is repeatedly saying my name. Thats what was going on today. Things kept echoing every so muchth thought. Not every thought. Not every other one... I can't remember. I didn't count fractions. I will go into the fraction and become a slice of cake. A theoretical one. Which is what a fraction is.

Today I went for a drive. A magical mystery tour. Someone else wanted to score drugs. Ha! Riding about in a car was much more exciting than boring old heroin (didn't even ask).

At the beginning they went nuts because I said don't bring any crack? What?! Crackers or what? What he'd said was something to do with a stone. Thrown to my window. To alert me. Which made me think of crack and go off on one. What REALLY set me off was the sound of my phone alarm clock at 9:30. I'd gone to bed early, woke up very early when it was still dark and got up fairly early when breakfast tv? was on o i don't know 4-6 hours no idea. Aren't I supposed to be keeping a diary. I'm too distracted to be drunk if that's what y'all think. Too distracted to have money which has gone gone no idea where. Everything's "up in purpose" that's what my head says. This is supposed to be a stream of consciousness anyway, innit. Otherwise I'll forget where I've been. But I'm more together than when that really fractured up stuff came out. Me and that are the same, I'm afraid. It takes between 2 and 5 hours [by the clock] of trying to take us apart. And I do try. When it goes really intense, which is at least once per day, it gets intense enough for just words rhyming into chiming concentric magical mystery tour centre of the spiral type experience. To words breaking up. The ends come off and resonate so that is what I think, what I say, what I am. That is what I mean by oingoingoinging. Yesterday I just had noise, like two racing cars or however many cars driving or flying back and forth making a roaring noise. That was my thought. No English in there. That is when I managed to think in French. It calmed me down a little bit. Of course I can engage or disengage to an extent. Which is why I whack a weightless hyperspace tennisball back and forth in my mind, it feels fantastic. That is a way of expending psychic energy. It doesn't set me off. When anything sets me off I go faster and faster into those Intense Zones. I woke up with music going fast round my head and all ping zing zonging. Both times. Yet still managed to sleep! O yeah it was drugs. Prescription drugs. Zopiclone 7.5mg. See you don't need a monster dose.

I'm supposed to find my money card for Monday. And clear up a bit of something in Aladdin's Cave. Aladdin's Cave is what my house feels like. Full of unexpected wonderments. Yet very very stressful to actually engage with. Which sends me off into what I actually have control not to do right now. That sound-think thing.

So that's what's been happening. Hey a clear window. I don't want to come down. I don't want to be a miseryguts.

Hope y'all are having a fantastical weekend and DRUG FREE like me ha ha!

African Pygmy Hedgehog

FURRY FRIDAY ON SATURDAY

I'd really like one of these

Aren't they cute?

Even cats like them

Hedgehogs aren't the exotic pets here they are in some countries, as they're very common wildlife. Everybody has seen a wild hedgehog, many people feed them with catfood:

To an actual cat they're a real curiosity and a bit too prickly for food

The hedgehogs we have in our British gardens are about two to three times larger and very commonly seen.

WISHING Y'ALL A CHARMING WEEKEND. IF IT CAN'T BE CHARMING THEN MAY IT BE TOLERABLE!

Kiwis

FRUITY/FEATHERY FRIDAY/SATURDAY

A KIWI is a fruit containing several times the vitamin C of most citrus fruits

KIWIS are the national bird of New Zealand

NEW ZEALAND, where the Lord of the Rings was filmed

KIWI BIRDS are flightless and feature the characteristic huge beak

KIWIS are shy and retiring. They like hiding in hollow treetrunks and here they build their nests

PROVIDED they're not shot at, chased or otherwise treated cruelly, they can get very tame

THE little Kiwi chooks are well known for being vicious and evil. Here's a police photo of one just before it was arrested for pecking to death 3 young kids in a primary school playground....

... AND IF YOU BELIEVE THAT you really will believe anything!

WISHING Y'ALL A PUKKA WEEKEND

Dunnarts

FURRY FRIDAY ~ SATURDAY

Dunnarts are the tiny warriors of the Australian outback

There are 10 species of Dunnart. This is the fat-tailed dunnart Sminthopsis crassicaudata

Although they're tiny and shy, they love fighting with deadly spiders!

Their favourite breakfast is a "juicy" scorpion, sting bitten off

They also love biting human fingers, the swines!

The dunnart breeding season is so intense ... lasting about 2 weeks ...

That afterwards the males die of exhaustion. A new generation replaces them!

Some idiot introduced the European Red Fox to Australia. This, and the common house cat, are hunting the poor little darlings almost to extinction.

WISHING Y'ALL A CHEERY WEEKEND.
IF IT CAN'T BE CHEERY THEN MAY IT BE PAINLESS.
IF NOT PAINLESS THEN MAY IT BE TOLERABLE.
TAKE CARE EVERYONE ;-)

Pets, past and future ~

These are some pets I'd most like to have... and actually have had.

FURRY FRIDAY ON SATURDAY

Akitas are one of the oldest pure-breeds of dog in the world. The American Akita was taken back from Japan by American troops after World War II. It is bigger and furrier than its Japanese counterpart. Whenever I see one down the local park, I want to kidnap it. One came up and stared me right in the eyes. I was down on the grass, so we were eye to eye. She just stared into me. Very intense. Akitas are loyal and dignified and very Japanese. Similar in character to Alsatians or Rottweilers. They are used in Japan as police dogs. I have never heard one bark.

An idea of their size!

The puppies are well known for being savage and wild. This is pretty obvious when you take a look at one:

My favourite little dogs are Norwich terriers. If I got a small dog I wouldn't care too much about breed. The type I'm on about tends to show up in Rescue Home catalogues named "Scruffy". If you've seen "Scruffy", you know the dog I want. Every animal shelter has a Scruffy.

Chinchillas look like rabbits from Mars. They need a big cage, a huge wheel and a "marble", that is, a stone slab you can stick in the freezer for them to lie on in summer. Chinchillas come from the high Andes and do not enjoy temperatures much above 75F, 25C.

The best pets I ever had were roborovski hamsters. These come from Mongolia. They're a totally different breed to ordinary hamsters (2in/5cm fully grown, pingpong ball-sized when curled up). They are the smallest and fastest hammies in the world.

Unlike ordinary hamsters, which fight when kept together, robos are highly social. They sleep in a heap:

They do everything together. But they're easily startled, don't tame at all easily and don't like being handled. They ping off on the floor at the first opportunity, have taken me 2-4 days to recapture. Imagine a wild house mouse on speed and you're still not close! Aren't they cute ...

WISHING Y'ALL A CHARMING WEEKEND. IF IT CAN'T BE CHARMING, THEN MAY IT BE TOLERABLE.

Bushbabies

FURRY FRIDAY-SATURDAY

Bushbabies, aka galagos come from Africa...

They're called bushbabies, because they love clinging to trees.

Sometimes they hug the trees, like this.

They also hug human hands.

A hollow log makes a good bedroom.

These babies are nocturnal. What amazing eyes!

Baby bushbabies are tiny (of course)...

Video:

Hammy Saturday!

THESE ARE MY (LATE) ROBOROVSKI PYGMY HAMSTERS
Bashful, Itchy and Spherical... who were only 2in/5cm long fully grown ...

HELLO YOU TINY PYGMIES!

Multicoloured Friday on Saturday...

Wishing y'all a wonderful weekend!

Brown Bears!

FURRY FRIDAY ON SATURDAY...

REAL-LIFE TEDDY BEARS!

BROWN BEARS are native to vast swathes of the northern hemisphere from Europe, through Russia, Alaska, Canada and the central United States... This shaggy-furred lumberer is a Kodiak bear, a brown bear subspecies

The brown bear is the national beast of Finland

Brown bears are real-life Teddy Bears

The most savage of all bear species, brown bears hunt and eat other bears (especially American black bears), and even Siberian tigers... as well as man...

Their favourite activity seems to be standing in the middle of fast-flowing rivers waiting for salmon to leap out during spawning season...

Aren't baby bears cute!

They look like little furry goblins ...

Hammy heard that: "Goblins?!?! I'm outta here!"
