my sister with her daughter is still stranded since early this morning, around 8 am and it's now 10 pm, somewhere in g araneta ave in quezon city. they were just let in a 2-storey apartment by a couple. her car is now totally submerged in floodwaters. lampas tao daw tubig dun sa paligid nila. i have lost contact since 6 pm and i hope it's just because low bat na cellphone nya. i can't go out also because the streets around the condo are jammed with vehicles and water around bangkal are also high. creeks and rivers have overflowed. i don't know how much longer this situation will last. this is the biggest flood in manila in memory.

Dinner Party

I have been wanting to have a dinner party on our screened porch since we moved in and it finally happened over the weekend. I've decided September is a nice month for this type of get-together because it is still warm enough to dine comfortably outside but without the horrible humidity that looms mid-summer. We had a great evening chatting with friends and getting to know some new friends. I decorated with white lanterns above the table and the centerpiece was a store bought bouquet, scattered among Mason jars and bud vases I picked up awhile back at the thrift store. I think it came together nicely. Hooray for outdoor dinner parties!

While in NY for the belmar jam steve took us to a kick ass waterfall with a sick cliff jump. Where a local bad ass was seen penciling into what appeared to be 2 feet of water but in fact was a 10 foot deep by 3 foot round hole which led to an under water cave. allowing for waterfall warps. one of the wildest tricks of the weekend.

Lansones

Panahon ng Lansones at Rambutan jan sa ating bayang sinilangan. Bukas naman ang simula ng taglagas dito estet. Uso naman ang apple picking at ang walang kamatayang apple pie. Meron din lansones dito at sa Canada pero maliit at medyo maitim ang kulay.


Isang kaing ng Lansones. Hindi ko na matandaan kung magkano ito.
