Completing a photo essay of a marching band must be some sort of secret rite of passage for newspaper photographers. I see photo pages of bands all the time. So when I was assigned to illustrate a page with photos of this local school band, I wasn't very excited. Since starting the assignment I have realized that I like band "geeks," at least the band geeks I have met. Anyway, I guess I like this assignment too. Thanks Jason.
