A Hachi Type of Dog
I MET A HACHI TYPE OF DOG in the park this morning. (After the dog in the film Hachi, starring Richard Gere.) I had a good idea this breed was probably Japanese, because of the cute face. Apparently they are called Chūken Hachikō 忠犬ハチ公 which means "faithful friend". The friendly dog came right up to me. His fur was incredibly soft ~ the nearest doggie fur can come to chinchilla. I said "hello you furry old swine". Then the owner saw me and smiled. And the doggie ran off...
I wish I had a dog like that. (And about £1200 to pay for a puppy.)
What a furry entertainer!!
HACHI TRAILER Japanese subtitled:

Doesn't the furry swine look all "wise" in this still..!
PS hachikō doggies are better known as Akita Inu 秋田犬

HACHI III: how they aged the furry dogs who played the part:
PPS: I love Carol Jackson (for those of you allergic to soap operas or residing on far-flung shores, that's Bianca's mother (pictured here as scruffy mother of the bride) on EastEnders... Played by Lindsay Coulson... she reminds me of my flirtatious old English teacher at school...
