HERE is a blast from the past ~ the only picture I could find online of the Sharp Fontwriter all-in-one wordprocessor I used to use. Which is still in storage at a friend's house... but utterly old and incompatible ~} though it does, apparently, convert wordprocessing files into ASCII, which can (somehow, and I've no idea how) be transferred to computer via oldfashioned disk.
I bought it on special offer for £350 from a shop on Tottenham Court Road some time in 1996...
How I loved that machine!
Illusrated: top left Sharp Fontwriter ~ like mine this was the poshest machine in the range with full screen. Bottom right: an older model by Brother ~ basically a typewriter with 4 or 5 line screen and disk drive...
ROSETTA STONE JAPANESE
"And now while I'm setting up Rosetta Stone here's a video clip of a dog I'm looking after for ten days"... and what a friendly performer the trotterdonkey fuzzy doggie is... it's worth watching 1 min 15 seconds in just to see it...
(Don't bother with the rest of it, unless you're seriously considering learning Japanese.)
